The human brain is a complex thing that is capable of performing computations that exceed the capabilities of a super computer. Yet it’s the mind that must master its focus, else the brain wanders and starts to forget things in the blink of a proverbial eye. Forgotten Princess is a card trick that takes advantage of the human brain’s foibles in a stunning, and entertaining way. It’s a great tabletop gimmick and staple for a card magician.
Forgotten Princes starts with you dealing 5 cards on the table. You then ask a chosen spectator to remember one. This doesn’t seem that hard. They’ll probably do it with confidence. So, you set the selected, and memorized card aside, before carefully "Plucking" the memory of that card from their head. You then prove you've done this by showing their card isn't one of the 4 remaining cards. Of course, they won’t believe you because the trust their own memory, and will simply assume you just set aside the card they thought of from the hand. Yet you dramatically reveal that that card isn't the one they thought of either. With a sharp tap, you pull the missing thought back into their head, as they name the card which can be shown to still be in the pack!
