Pip gimmicks are a great way to practice sleight of hand tricks without having to result to the cliché sponge balls and their sometimes over-used tricks. This particular kit called Pips a Poppin, you can lace it into multiple acts.
With the first effect you remove all four aces from the pack, and display them in a small fan before placing them on top of the deck. You then explain to the spectators that the pips on the playing cards are actually a solid material that’s been tightly compressed. They will stand up to cursory inspection by a skeptical spectator.
When one of the aces is rubbed on your left palm and lifted away, the sponge spade suddenly appears. Though when when the card is turned the spade pip on the card has vanished. This effect can then be repeated with each ace. You can also repeat this performance with the four deuce cards in the deck.
The pips can also be repurposed into a vanishing act, where they crush down into your hand. With some dramatic prestidigitation they suddenly vanish.
Pips a Popin is an elevated card and sponge routine in one. This particular kit comes with everything you need to integrate the original trick into your act, as well as the instructions you need to apply your own creative spins on it.
This includes the super-soft sponge pip props, as well as specially-printed Bicycle cards that lend credibility to the effect. There’s also a 12-page insightful instruction booklet.
