Of course, a pork pie was made in a specially shaped pan with its own stylish shape. In time, haberdashers came to realize it was easier to shape a hat like it than it was to make a ten gallon cowboy hat, and the Pork Pie hat like this one was born. It was so popular, that this style of hat even made it all the way to the early decades of the 20th century.
