The humble octopus is a bizarre creature with neural nodes attached to each of its 8 invertebrate tentacles. These miniature “brains” can work independently or in tandem to perform a wide range of tasks. Not the least of which is using their sense of touch as a sense of taste. It even gives them the ability to do things like open jars. All from a creature without a spinal cord and a seemingly simply brain. This has prompted some scientists and conspiracy theorists to wonder if octopi are actually an alien species that has been living on Earth amongst us.
Sure, flatworms and jellyfish are cool, but they can never be as cool or as cool-looking as an octopus. While the real thing is really tough to handle and easy to accidentally kill, you can still replicate its presence in an aquatic scene with an awesome prop like this Medium Octopus. Great for aquarium scenes, seafood restaurants, children’s museums and more.
