Little House on the Prairie was originally penned by Laura Ingalls Wilder's to discuss her life on the frontier Midwest. It later went on to be reimagined into a highly popular TV series starring Michael Landon and a cast of young ladies who depicted his daughters. Fans of the genre and the TV show still show up at costume events and parties dress as the famous characters in costume like this Pioneer Girl Ensemble.

A Better Dress Than The Pioneer Days

A lot of the clothing children on the pioneer wore in the 19th and early 20th century was made from scrap fabrics and recycled cloth flower bags. They were itchy, uncomfortable and not very breathable.
