Shin Lim is one of the master card magicians leading the way in 21st Century performance art. His stagecraft and card tricks have earned him international renown, and he isn’t going to be stopping any time soon. So, you knew it was only a matter of time before he offered up a truly mystifying card trick like the Switch. It is the cleanest way to switch a card because there are no boxes, no envelopes, or other containers. If the Switch isn’t already in your performance budget, it should be!
Performing Shin Lim’s “The Switch” starts by placing a mystery card on the table, or in the spectator’s hand, or really anywhere that it can be clearly seen. At that point, you will need to select another participant at random and have them sign a card. With dramatic flair you cause their signed card to vanish completely from the deck. Your participant is then asked to open their hands, to see that the mystery card is indeed the signed one.
