In Mexico, the “sombrero de charro” is a functional type of headwear with a wide brim that helps shield the eyes and face from the sun. It typically has a high pointed crown, an extra-wide brim that is slightly upturned at the edge. Most sombreros also have a chin strap to hold them in place. It is such a beloved and widely used hat that there is even a dance based on it. So, it comes as little surprise that someone would offer a luxury sombrero for costumes and cosplay like this one by Rubies.
The truth is that the materials used in an authentic sombrero can be pretty itchy and uncomfortable. This sombrero takes care of that by using an exterior velour fabric that is smooth to the touch. You can truly wear this sombrero for hours and hours on end without it rubbing you raw. You can get it in highly decorated red or high-contrast black and white.
