These days when people hear the name Queen Elizabeth, they think of the current Queen of England. Though in truth, the first Queen Elizabeth of England was Elizabeth I, who came to earn a slew of other monikers in her life, such as the Virgin Queen and Good Queen Bess. Her time on the throne is often referred to as the Elizabethan Age, when England asserted itself vigorously as a major European power in politics. Not the least of her accomplishments was the British Navy finally defeating the famed Spanish Armada. With such might and majesty, she is often depicted in plays and historical reenactments in an elegant ensemble like this one.
This Elizabethan Queen costume is made from professional-grade 100% polyester velvet, jersey knit, and elegant satin fabrics. The dress itself is styled as skirt over a Jersey-knit chemise. This allows for a portion of dress to have plunging V-neck, puffed sleeves with fitted lace-edged cuffs. The chemise portion has all-over glittery gold diamond pattern, while the skirt portion of dress is velvet with more ornate jersey print inset panel edged as well as brocade ribbon. It’s also worth noting that the elegant corset has cord lacing through metal grommets at center back as well as foam-backed ivory satin stand-up collar accented by lace edging.
