The Apis Bull was a powerful sign of divinity in the ancient world. So, it wasn’t a huge surprise when the Minotaur showed up in Homer’s creative writing. A denizen of the Labyrinth, it was a beast with the muscular body of a man and the head of a powerful bull. In the end, Theseus and company managed to confound and defeat it, but at great cost. It was such a compelling tale then that Minotaur Horns headbands like these are still popular costume accessories now.
Of course, ancient Greek mythology wasn’t the only place that Minotaurs were found. The beast shows up again in the Renaissance writing Dante’s Inferno as the first infernal guardian whom Virgil and Dante encounter within the walls of Dis, as they descend into hell. Whatever inspires you to take on the guise of the Minotaur, you can bet that these comfortable, lightweight, and highly detailed Minotaur Horns won’t let you down.
