Daniel Boone was one of the original pioneers who helped Lewis and Clark brave the frontier. He went on to become one of the most memorable American pioneers and frontiersman whose exploits made him one of the first folk heroes of the United States. He was perhaps most-famous for his exploration and settlement of what is now Kentucky, which was then beyond the western borders of the Thirteen Colonies. He reached such mythical proportions that it’s hard to tell what’s true and what is a tall tale. Though many people depict him wearing a coon skip cap like this one. Except this particular one is made from synthetic fibers without having to harm a hair on a single raccoon's head!
Like Daniel Boone, Davy Crocket was also known for his heroic, if not mythical exploits on the American frontier. Even more than Boone, Davy Crocket was known for and loved wearing coonskin caps. Which makes this replica equally popular for the character. It is made from special synthetic hair that replicates real animal fur, without the crisis of conscience that comes with wearing animal products. The fabric of the cap is made from a special type of polyester that mimics real leather but is more comfortable.
