He was a drunkard who bargained with Stan and was eventually doomed to roam the earth, haunting with a light. Now because people wanted to scare him off, they started to carve scary faces on potatoes. Guess that's why he's Jack of the lantern. Of course, there are tons of stories surrounding the legend, but we don't know who to believe! Traditionally, people carve funny faces on the pumpkin and place a candle in it to create the whole lantern effect. Good news! You don't have to struggle anymore!
